Stayed in room 7, very spacious and fantastic view!
No hot water for shower . It is a nice building though.
Superb service and one of the best sea views in Oban from room 14. Paid for room just as we went into lock down 2019, kept rolling until now without any issues.
Gives an oldie world first impression on walking in. However, all is clean & tidy. Rooms are well appointed, even down to the detail of most mains socket faceplates feature USB charging sockets, large screen smart tv and the room phone is wifi connected. Location is ideal for accessing the centre of Oban, being right on the seafront. There is no dedicated parking, but plenty of on-street or car park spaces are available. It is worth noting that the hotel climbs over several floors and there is no lift. Likely not and issue except for those with heavy bags or tired children
Lovely hosts,offered the choice of 2 rooms,on arrival,.hotel was being revamped. The breakfast was good and fresh .
Due to covid, our stay was different, but despite this had a lovely time. Clean , friendly staff, brilliant view over the bay, great location. Only problem was the 90 stairs to reach our room. I have arthritis so was a struggle. Make sure you check this before booking.
Lovely family run hotel. Old and new. Very helpful staff and a great breakfast. Lots of stair so not great for not very mobile guests but staff will try and get you a room on a lower floor if possible. Gorgeous views to wake up to in the morning.
We were not guests, but travellers in distress from out of the country, left carless by the local rental company. The manager generously gave us a list of local taxi companies as we needed to get to our actual accommodations 45 minutes away. He insisted we sit in the breakfast room to make calls and also offered use of a restroom.
Charming Edwardian, family-run hotel just a 3-minute walk from Oban train station. I had a really good experience here — my room was clean, comfortable, and offered a lovely sea view. The shower was excellent too. For food, I’d recommend The Corryvreckan Wetherspoons nearby. It’s close, convenient, and makes dining simple after a day of exploring. Overall, a great stay in Oban and I’d happily return.
We were stranded in Oban for 2 nights due to landslides & flooding. Finding accommodation was nigh on impossible, but we found here. Ann, the owner, was just so wonderful, an amazing character, very friendly & full of life. The room was big enough, a comfortable large bed, a good shower, clean & the most gorgeous view. If you have to be stuck anywhere, then The Palace Hotel is the place to be!
